Undergraduate Laboratory Manager – I am currently searching for a BYU undergraduate student to manage my laboratory. This person will oversee safety and compliance issues, serve as our liaison with the college computer support staff, order supplies, keep the lab clean, and help prepare to move to the new (unnamed) college life science building in spring 2014. The job will pay $8.50 per hour for 5-10 hours per week. Students can apply by submitting a cover letter (no more than one page) and a resume to firstname.lastname@example.org. I will begin reviewing applications on January 6th and will continue until the position is filled.
Ph.D. Fellowship – I will be accepting one or two new Ph.D. students to begin Fall Semester 2014 or Fall Semester 2015. Fellowships will be funded at a base rate of $21,000 per year plus partial tuition and health insurance benefits. Students can also apply for competitive funding for university fellowships funded at $30,000 per year. Interested students should contact me directly to discuss the possibility of joining my lab. See Prospective Graduate Students for additional information. Students seeking admission for Fall 2014 enrollment must submit their application by January 30, 2014.
Undergraduate Research Assistantships – Undergraduate students who have spent at least one semester working in my laboratory may be considered for assistantship support to pay them while they conduct their research. Funding for these assistantships comes from my BYU Mentoring Environment Grant or from our NSF-PIRE award (OISE). See Mentored Undergraduate Research for additional information.
